Yearbook 2023: the fifth edition of the yearbook of the Department of Geosciences is online

In 2023, the Department of Geosciences achieved a major milestone with the launch of the 'Geosciences for Sustainable Development' project. This initiative earned us recognition as one of the distinguished departments for the 2023-2027 period by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR).
Additionally, 2023 marked significant progress and innovation for us. In June, we celebrated the opening of the Museum of Nature and Humankind. Furthermore, we introduced the new three-year degree program 'Earth and Climate Dynamics' in October, attracting a diverse group of international students.
The objective of the Department Yearbook has always been to offer a comprehensive overview of the personnel, research, teaching, laboratories, field activities, and communication initiatives at the Department of Geosciences. In introducing the fifth edition of the Yearbook, Prof. Nicola Surian, the Department of Geosciences' Head, emphasized the continued attraction of a significant number of students from diverse geographical locations around the globe. Over the past three years, it has been noted that 25-35% of Ph.D. students have originated from overseas.
