Valentina Prigiobbe is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Padua. Before joining this institution, she was Assistant Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ, USA). Her research interests are in the areas of flow and transport in reactive porous media, particulate processes, and urban hydrology. Her approach is based on understanding the fundamental mechanisms of complex processes and geosystems through mathematical and numerical models validated with laboratory and field measurements.

Specific topics of interest include: (1) CO2 removal technologies, including carbon mineralization and enhanced weathering, (2) Critical element mining and recovery, (3) Microorganism transport in the vadose zone, (4) Flow and transport in reactive porous media of solutes, particles, and bubbles, (5) Compound flooding modeling in urbanized coastal areas.
