Coronavirus - Updates at Unipd - Department of Geosciences
Our government has adopted new and more strict measures to contain health emergencies and has announced that starting from Monday, 15th, the Region of Veneto will be classified as a “red zone”, according to a decree issued by the Minister of Health.
Therefore, our university, according to the decisions taken by the Regional University Committee has decided to adopt the following measures, that will enter into force starting from Monday, 15th, and lasts until the Veneto Region will be classified as a “red zone”:
In agreement with the Head of DEI and DII and in compliance with the new rules adopted by the Ministry, and subsequently adopted by the University of Padua,
Starting from March 15 and until further notice, for the Department of Geosciences it is futher specified that:
For bachelor and master students: only those students who officially started their Master's and Bachelor's thesis can have access to the Department (such students must have already officialized their thesis within Uniweb portal) ONLY if they really need to carry out specific laboratory activities that cannot be postponed. The students can be authorized to have access the Department only if the thesis supervisor requires the authorization indicating which laboratory activity the students must do and the date and time. Students that only need to discuss their thesis with the supervisor will be not authorized to access the Dept.
Guests: all authorizations for accessing the Department for external guests are suspended. For people under the UNIPD contract, the Head can authorize their access to the Dept under specific request. External technicians who have to carry out maintenance and repairs for the Department's scientific instruments can be authorized to access under a specific request.
Professors, Researchers, Ph.Ds, Post-docs, Research fellows (only people under UNIPD contract and official long-terms visiting professors and scientists): Professors and Researchers are authorized to access the Department and laboratory anytime; Ph.Ds, post-docs, research fellows, and official long-terms visiting professors and scientists can carry out all their research activities regularly. However, I remind them that, to access the Department during the weekend, the authorization of the Head and of their scientific responsible is compulsory scientific responsible. In addition, for Ph.Ds, post-docs, research fellows, and official long-terms visiting professors and scientists, it is always forbidden to access the laboratories during the weekend unless their scientific responsible are simultaneously present.
