"The Microworld of the Karst": A Fascinating Exhibition in Trieste Reveals Hidden Colors and Shapes in Rocks / „Mikrosvet Krasa”: v Trstu razstava za odkrivanje skritih oblik in barv v kamninah
On Saturday, November 22, Sala Sbisà at Magazzino 26 in Porto Vecchio, Trieste, will host the opening of “The Microworld of the Karst”, a photographic exhibition offering a rare chance to marvel at the hidden shapes and vibrant colors of rocks.
The exhibition features over 50 stunning photographs by multiple authors, including Prof. Bernardo Cesare, a winner of numerous international awards. Visitors can discover the intricate details of Karst rocks under the microscope, as well as fossils occasionally concealed within them.
Organized by the Department of Geosciences at the University of Padua and the Geological Service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the exhibition is part of the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia project “Joint Management and Sustainable Development of the Classical Karst Area – Kras-Carso II”, in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Sciences of the CNR and the Municipality of Trieste.
The exhibition runs from November 22, 2025, to January 11, 2026, open Thursday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.
V soboto, 22. novembra, se v dvorani Sbisà, Magazzino 26, Stari trg v Trstu odpira fotografska razstava „Mikrosvet Krasa“, neprecenljiva priložnost za občudovanje vse lepote skritih oblik in barv v kamninah.
Več kot 50 fotografij različnih avtorjev, med njimi tudi prof. Bernardo Cesare, zmagovalec številnih mednarodnih natečajev, vas bo popeljalo v svet kamnin Krasa skozi mikroskop in razkrilo fosile, ki se včasih skrivajo v njih.
Razstavo organizirata Oddelek za geoznanosti Univerze v Padovi in Geološka služba Avtonomne dežele Furlanije Julijske krajine v okviru projekta Interreg VI-A Italija – Slovenija „Skupno upravljanje in trajnostni razvoj območja klasičnega Krasa - Kras-Carso II“, v sodelovanju z Inštitutom za morske znanosti Nacionalnega raziskovalnega sveta in Občino Trst.
Razstava bo na ogled od 22. novembra 2025 do 11. januarja 2026, od četrtka do nedelje, med 10.00 in 17.30. Vstop je prost.
