QS Ranking – Unipd among the top 100 in the world

Today, the most important international academic ranking agency, the QS, published results of its ‘by subject’ ranking. The University of Padua placed first for those interested in studying Anatomy and Physiology, Geophysics, and Statistics in Italy. Across the top 100 universities in the world, QS marked Unipd first in 10 academic subjects. Across the top 200 universities in the world UniPD is included in 4 scientific macro-areas out of the 5 listed.

In the new edition, eligible universities must provide full degree programs in the corresponding faculty (broad subject) to be admitted into the rankings if they also hold relevant and excellent scientific production. This edition examined 1597 universities from 161 different, which is 63 universities more than in the previous edition.

The number of disciplines considered in this edition increases from 51 to 54, with the introduction of new subjects: Data Science, Art History, and Marketing. The University of Padua was evaluated on 32 subjects and maintained its positioning trend with improvements across 14 disciplines.

On a global scale, the disciplinary areas in which Padua performed best (with two new entries in the top 50 positions) are: Classics and Ancient History (44th place), Anatomy and Physiology (47th place), Veterinary Sciences (51st - 70th place), Physics and Astronomy (71st place), Forestry and Agricultural Sciences (76th place), Pharmacy and pharmacology (83rd place), Psychology (89th place), Geophysics (51st - 100th place), Archeology (51st - 100th place), Statistics (51st - 100th place).

Overall, the University of Padua maintained its position among the top 200 universities in the world in four out of five macro-areas, in relation to academic research: Natural Sciences (102nd place), Life Sciences & Medicine (129th place), Arts & Humanities (161 st place), Engineering & Technology (180th place), Social Sciences & Management (240th place)
