About this event

What are meteorites? What are they made of? And, most of all, where do they come from? These are some of the questions that are addressed in the temporary exhibition “Meteorites. A journey from deep space to planet Earth”, which will take place from 1st October to 1st December 2021 at the Department of Geosciences of the University of Padua.

Thanks to one of the biggest meteorites’ collections in Italy, during the exhibition not only it will be possible to closely observe Martian and Lunar meteorites, but ample space will also be dedicated to the importance that this "extraterrestrial material" has in the study of origin of life on our planet and how it may have caused extinctions in the history of the Earth.

During the guided tour, organized by PhD students and researchers from the Departments of Geosciences and Biology, it will also be possible to touch some meteorites and discover them macro and microscopically.

The entrance is free of charge. Reservation is required

If you can no loger visit the exhibition, please cancel the reservation on Eventbrite or contact the organization at comunicazione.geoscienze@unipd.it
