Facilities
Department's most valuable facility is the home building itself: a 3-storey, newly built (2009) edifice located within the core of the University scientific extension. The building hosts a significant number of laboratories, most of which are equipped with modern instrumentation and provide fundamental background to the research activity at the DG. Read more!

Laboratories at the DG take advantage of modern, high-quality instrumentation that is upgraded and serviced regularly. We offer extensive, open access-facilities to address problems in several field of geosciences and, at the same time, to provide an external service to other Italian Universities and private companies. The Library hosted at the DG can boast bold facts: 358 journal subscriptions, ca. 20,000 volumes (including historical texts dating back to the XVII century) and ca. 8,000 geologic maps make it probably the largest Geoscience University library in Italy. More... |

Museums |
|
|
The Museum of Geology and Paleontology and the Museum of Mineralogy are located in the very city center of Padova. Specifically, they are hosted in the same building that was the former site of the DG until October, 2010. Museums of the DG preserve a huge collection of rocks, fossils and minerals of immeasurable scientific and historical value. More information here. |
